Silver of the Stars collection

Silver of the Stars is a contemporary collection of silver, created by ten of Scotland’s finest silversmiths in partnership with ten of Scotland’s best known celebrities. Each silversmith and celebrity pair designed and made a drinking vessel inspired by the universal theme of ‘a drink with a close friend’. Each celebrity then wrote a story about who they would have their drink with, where they would be and what they would be talking about.

The resulting collection, which includes a diamond studded teapot, has been exhibited around the world since 2007 in a series of touring exhibitions at venues from The Hermitage State Museum in St Petersburg to the Forbes Museum in New York to the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Silver of the Stars is infused with creativity – from the artisan silversmiths to some of Scotland’s most celebrated and creative minds – Billy Connolly, Ian Rankin and Nicola Benedetti to name a few. The collection was made to inspire and provoke thought, creativity and talent of the sort demonstrated in various fields by the celebrities and the silversmiths.

Silver of the Stars is a registered Scottish charity, set up by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh.
