Introduce ‘Silver of the Stars’ at group time

Have a ‘Talking Tub’ with different teapots, images, teabags, tea leaves, tea cosy etc to inspire conversation. Create mind-map with children’s ideas

Have different tea pots in the water tray to explore volume – ‘How many cups can you fill with each pot?’

Students responsible for arranging a tea party/ cafe event for community or invited guests:

Research traditions and customs around making and serving tea to guests; cultural variations; types of tea: global citizenship, social, languages…

Tea set exploration and designing

Children draw tea set/s (real and printed pictures from website of SotS collection and others).

Discuss similarities and differences of the tea sets, lookingat detail, shape, colour, weight and textures.

Explore first hand a collection of vessels including cups, jugs, teapots etc.
